Diwali, also known as Deepawali, is a Hindu festival of lights. It is one of the major Hindu festivals celebrated across the world by Indians and non-Indians. 

Diwali 2025 will be celebrated on October 21, as it is the main day to perform the Lakshmi Puja. However, Karnataka has listed October 22, 2025, as a Diwali holiday in its public holiday calendar.

The festival is celebrated during the Ashwin and Kartika months. It typically falls around mid-September to mid-November. 

This festive occasion honours Lord Rama, Goddess Sita, and Lord Laxman’s return to Ayodhya after defeating the evil Lord Ravana.
