Pushya Nakshatra is an Auspicious event in Vedic astrology and it is considered suitable for investments such as Gold and Property. Know More!

Lord Krishna and Maa Lakshmi are considered to be the god and goddess of Pushya Nakshatra because they were born during this auspicious time.

This nakshatra is ruled by planet Saturn or Shani Dev, as per Hindu mythology.

Pushya Nakshatra is the eighth of 27 constellations in Vedic astrology.

It is considered an auspicious constellation that brings prosperity, wealth, and auspiciousness.

The word “Pushya” means ‘nourisher’ in Sanskrit and its symbol is the cow’s udder which represents nourishment, abundance, and fertility.

The event is considered positive for various reasons, such as its ruling planet Lord Saturn, known for its discipline, ambition, and strength.

On the other hand, its deity Lord Jupiter possesses qualities such as leadership, wisdom, and knowledge.

The combination of these two powerful lords is known to bring positivity and strength in abundance during this event.

In India, many people perform rituals and pray to deities to seek their blessings before starting new businesses or buying new appliances and properties.

It is quite common for most people to pray to god on important occasions.

However, it is believed that on Pushya Nakshatra you should seek blessing from Lord Krishna and Goddess Lakshmi.

This is because Lord Krishna and Goddess Lakshmi are believed to have been born during Pushya Nakshatra.

Which God was born on Pushya Nakshatra?

Lord Krishna is said to have been born during Pushya Nakshatra in the Shravan month.

The month of Shravan is also a significant period as it is related to the beginning of the monsoon season in South-West India.

Many Indians keep fast during the month of Shravan where they avoid all kinds of non-vegetarian food, alcohol, garlic, onion, and processed foods.

The fast is kept to express their devotion to Lord Krishna, the eighth incarnation of Lord Shiva.

Lord Krishna is known to be highly intelligent, creative, gentle, heroic, charismatic, popular, and attractive.

Those born during Pushya Nakshatra are also said to have similar characteristics.

Which Goddess was born on Pushya Nakshatra?

According to a few ancient scriptures, Goddess Lakshmi was also born during Pushya Nakshatra.

Goddess Lakshmi is Lord Shiva’s wife and is the goddess of wealth and prosperity.

Goddess Lakshmi is represented sitting on a white lotus, adorned with gold jewellery, and smiling.

She is shown with four hands with two holding lotus flowers and the other two pouring gold coins downward.

The white lotus she sits on represents beauty, wealth, and fertility.

Worshipping the Goddess of prosperity and wealth is considered auspicious during Pushya Nakshatra.

Most Indians worship Goddess Lakshmi every Friday which is when she is supposed to be highly active.

During Diwali, people clean their houses, decorate them with lights, and decorate their worship areas to welcome Goddess Lakshmi into their house so she can bless their family.

Pushya Nakshatra is also similarly celebrated where believers conduct prayers and sing chants to please the Goddess of wealth.

People also offer Mahalakshmi gold coins to Lakshmi idols during the prayer.
