    The World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting brings together leaders from all over the world to address major global challenges. 

    This year’s Annual Meeting is being held in Davos, Switzerland, from January 20th to January 24th. The theme of this year’s summit is “Collaboration for the Intelligent Age." The theme is centred around the following pointers:

    • Rebuilding trust
    • Reimagining growth
    • Safeguarding the planet
    • Industries in the intelligent age
    • Investing in people

    India At Davos 2025 Summit

    This year, India showed a brilliant mark of unity, with leaders from different political parties joining forces to facilitate the country's growth. 

    India showed up with the largest-ever delegation, which includes five Union Ministers, three Chief Ministers, and nearly 100 government officials and civil society leaders. 

    Leaders from eight Indian states attended the annual meet to attract global investments. These states consisted of Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Telangana, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal. 

    Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stressed the importance of collective growth, stating, 

    “There was a time when only a few states grew. Now, more states are competing, showcasing their strengths, and attracting investments. Together, if we grow, India grows.”

    India’s agenda for this year’s WEF annual meet revolves around 14 themes; they are:

    2. Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA)
    3. Food processing
    4. Infrastructure as enabler
    5. Supply chain diversification
    6. Investor showcasing
    7. Food security
    8. Innovation and Technology leadership

    Key Discussions At The 55th WEF Annual Conference

    Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw presented the Indian Semiconductor Ecosystem at the summit, highlighting the importance of balancing innovation and regulation.

    Andhra Pradesh showcased its 1,054-km coastline to attract global businesses under its “Business with Speed and Innovation” theme with its business-friendly policies and seven airports. 

    Telangana CM Revanth Reddy also promoted its electric vehicles, semiconductors, pharma, and infrastructure sectors.

    Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu emphasised that global companies wish to work with India as it is the third-largest domestic market in the world.

    Maharashtra presented itself as “The Industrial Powerhouse of India” to break new ground on the global stage. 

    CM Devendra Fadnavis signed MOUs worth nearly INR 16 lakhs across several sectors, which will create 92,000 jobs and boost the states GDP to USD 1 trillion. 

    At the same time, Telangana CM expressed his confidence about his state becoming USD 1 trillion. 

    Further more, Razorpay is expected to shell a whopping INR 860 crore to make India its home base and move out of the US. The company’s CEO and co-founder, Harshil Mathur, said, 

    “There's no point in us doing an IPO in any other market so we want to go public in India and that's the reason we decided to flip back.”
